One more before I give up!
Christmas Vacation (1989) Dir. Jeremiah Chechik Writ. John Hughes Stars: Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo, Juliette Lewis Rated PG-13 (wow I thought this movie was rated R. Awesome!) 97 mins. Comedy, Christmas IMDB: 7.5
Christmas Vacation is the third of the National Lampoon’s Vacation film series. Instead of going ON vacation this time, the Griswold’s are hosting Christmas at their home when the hilarity ensues. You don’t have to see any of the movies to understand the others, which is a good thing since as a kid, I saw these all out of order, but it goes Vacation, European Vacation, Christmas Vacation, Vegas Vacation, and next year, I’ll be damned if one last Griswold movie coming out! I can’t wait!
This movie is a classic. This is one of the Go-To Christmas movies, if you ask me. It’s non-stop laughs, from the start. From the Christmas tree start to the crazy relatives to the jerk neighbors, to getting stuck in the attic, to all the crazy animal hijinks, to Cousin Eddie, to the Christmas decorations on crack, you cannot watch this movie without laughing your ass off.
Also, there is nothing funnier than Clark’s tirade when he finally flips his lid that ends in “HOLY SHIT, Where’s the Tylenol?!”
I always die laughing. Every single time. If you like comedy, physical comedy, slapstick, witty comedy, and even a little bit of raunchy comedy, this is the movie for your Christmas celebrations!
I’d have to say out of all of National Lampoon’s Vacation films, this one is my favorite. Hands down.
My Rating: 8/10
